GOT A CRAZY DOG?
Do you avoid inviting friends and family over because your dog is so out of control?
Are you embarrassed to walk your pooch in public because the pulling, lunging, and barking has gotten so bad? ![]() Perhaps you're just looking to get that new puppy started out on the right paw or teach your newly adopted fur-kid some simple basic training and manners.
Whichever the case, we're here to help! Problem behaviors are easily modified and new skills quickly learned. We teach you to teach your dog - and the best part is - it's fun, easy and effective when you train with our "Positively, Dog-Friendly" method. Our reward based training not only strengthens the bond between you and your dog but it will also allow you to build a relationship with your pet based on mutual trust and respect. We do not use shock, choke or pinch collars. We do not use any fear or force based training methods such as alpha rolls, scruff shakes, intimidation, leash corrections, or yelling. In fact, most of our training can be done off leash! Using punishment, or any aversive techniques, not only weakens the bond of trust between you and your dog, but also provides him with very little usable information. Punishing your dog tells him the choice he made was wrong, but gives him no direction for what he should have done instead. |

Why Choose a
Certified Professional Dog Trainer Until the creation of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers in 2001, there was no nationally available certification process for dog trainers. The CCPDT's certification program is the first national certification for dog trainers. Many schools teach dog trainers and offer certification for their specific programs. These certificates, therefore, reflect the teachings and quality of a specific school. Other organizations offer take-home tests for "certification." These tests are not monitored, nor are the testing processes standardized. Candidates who pass the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers exam earn the title "Certified Professional Dog Trainer -Knowledge Assessed" and may use the designation, CPDT-KA after their names. As creators of the examination, the task force members have also earned the CPDT-KA designation. All certified trainers must earn continuing education credits to maintain their designations. They must also adhere to a strict Code of Ethics in their dog training practices. Why would you as a dog owner care about dog training certification? You care about your dog. You want a positive experience for both you and your four-footed friend. Whether you are looking for a training class or private training, you are looking for a high-quality, safe, and effective training experience. When you choose a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, you can be confident that you are working with a professional who has the knowledge and expertise to make your investment in dog training safe, effective, and even fun! Certified Professional Dog Trainers have dog training skills as well as instructor skills to enhance the experience and success for you and your Professional dog. CPDT-KA's have earned this credential by demonstrating their knowledge and experience in dog training. A CPDT-KA stays informed of current knowledge in the field and is familiar with the latest, most effective training techniques and equipment and adheres to a strict Code of Ethics. The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers is committed to maintaining rigorous testing and recertification systems to provide dog owners with information to help them make an informed choice when selecting a dog trainer. So when you look for a dog trainer, look for a professional with the CPDT-KA credential. Your dog will thank you! |
